INFORMATION ABOUT OUR LIBRARY
The Morgan County R-I School library, which serves a student population of 810, is staffed by a full-time certified librarian,  Brenda Steffens.

The library is networked with full Internet access via a T-1 line.  Fifteen computers  are available for full-class use in the computer lab.  We also have 16 wireless laptops that can be used in the library for staff and student use.  All the networked computers have access to EBSCOhost, a full-text database of 1000 magazines, Grolier Online, several on-line resources, and other reference materials as part of our MOREnet consortium membership.  All students need to have signed an Internet Acceptable Use Policy before using the Internet.  This agreement needs to be turned into the office.

The library is fully automated with the Athena cataloging and circulation system.

The library was built in 1990 and houses over 16,000 books, 900 video tapes, and a selection of other media.  The library subscribes to over 70 magazines, 20 professional periodicals, 2 daily newspapers, and 1 weekly newspaper in print format.

Other library sources include a televisions, video cassette recorders, color scanners, camcorders, laminator, and a book binder.  Access to satellite is available.
