Family and Career Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a dynamic and effective
national student organization that helps young men and women become
leaders and address important personal, family, work, and social issues
through family and consumer sciences education. FCCLA was formerly
known as Future Homemakers of America (FHA). Involvement in FCCLA
offers members the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and
develop skills for life planning, goal setting, problem solving,
decision making and interpersonal communication--necessary in the home
and workplace.
The Stover
Chapter has over 100 members who participate in various national
programs as well as many local community service opportunities. Our
fundraising project this year will be singing Valentines. As this year
we are not able to sell cakes due to school policy. The Stover Chapter
is also active on the regional, state, and national level.
The chapter
has several committees, each of which plan several community and school
activities, along with more than a thousand cumulative community service
hours. Some of the committees like American Cancer Society and Community
Service raise money for good causes in the community and pick up trash
along the highway. While Student Body and S.T.O.P. are committees in
which the students take action. S.T.O.P (Students Taking On Prevention)
in past years have sponsored a mock crash and educated the students on
violence. |
